<p style="text-align:justify;">Ever since I saw my first <strong>Clint Eastwood</strong> spaghetti western as a kid I have been fascinated with the soundtrack music of <strong>Ennio Morricone</strong>. Those bleak instrumentals, the corral vocals, all crafted to evoke a dusty, desolate, desert landscape. Two albums in and I finally realize why I have been so enthralled with <a href="#" target="_blank">Ghost Box Orchestra</a>. Listening to <em>Vanished</em>, I came to the realization that they simply use a different pallet than Morricone to paint a similar landscape.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;">Unlike Morricone’s bright, hot desert landscape, GBO use drone and volume to create a darker, colder, nighttime version. Drums throb in tribal rhythms. Guitars sweep and build, then dip and hover. Keyboards chant and drone, occasionally supplemented by haunted, chanted vocals which are buried so deeply in the mix that they are all but unintelligible – a fact that makes their music that much more mysterious and gut-wrenching.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;"><a href="#"><img class=" wp-image-309 alignright" alt="Ghost Box Orchestra" src="/2013/11/1378740_10151624864462522_1769079619_n.jpg?w=270&#038;h=203" width="270" height="203" /></a>I originally saw <a href="#" target="_blank">Ghost Box Orchestra</a> simply as a nouveau-psychedelic band (which is always more than enough to intrigue me) but, upon spending some quality time with Vanished, I now see them for the stunning instrumentalists that they are – on par with the likes of <a href="#" target="_blank">Mogwai</a> and <a href="#" target="_blank">Explosions in the Sky</a>.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;">Test out <em>Vanished</em> on GBO’s Bandcamp page, <a href="#">http://ghostboxorchestra.bandcamp.com</a>. And at $8 to buy, it’s certain to be less expensive than the bong hits that should accompany your listening.</p>

<p><a href="#"><img class=" wp-image-304 alignleft" alt="Home Recording" src="/2013/11/pict4576.jpg?w=270&#038;h=179" width="270" height="179" /></a>Welcome to the first installment of <em>The Bedroom Engineer</em>, a new semi-regular column at the <a href="#" target="_blank">Midday Records</a> blog. In coming weeks, I would like to bring up a number of hurdles and triumphs that await the home recordist and hopefully spark some conversation and inspiration. To start, I would like to address a likely thought you may be thinking to yourself: “I have been using (insert digital or analog solution) for (insert timeframe). What qualifies this guy to be lecturing me about how to do things right?” I know I would be thinking the same. What I’d like to spend the rest of this article doing in preparation for the weeks and articles to come is to point out the problems I have with that very thought.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Problem #1: “Qualifications”</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;">I do not see myself as being above nor below anyone else who has used a microphone to capture the sound of moving air. As I will discuss in a moment, the idea I had for this column was conversational in nature even if I provide the topic at hand and an introduction.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">That said, my “qualifications” are a degree in Audio Engineering from The New England Institute of Art, sixteen years of experience ranging from the most professional of studios to the most slapdash of home recording environs, and hopefully something we share &#8211; a love of all things audio. I have recorded a whole ton of bands and I am sure to reference experiences and stories here; hopefully if I have experienced something and learned from it, it could be of benefit to you. I also perform with the bands <a href="#">Vary Lumar</a>, <a href="#">Downcity Armory</a>, and <a href="#">The Difference Engine</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Problem #2: “Lecturing”</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The point of this column, and why I am so excited to get to work on it, is not to condescendingly discuss how things SHOULD be done. That is not entertaining for anyone, myself included. What I would like to do is (hopefully) provoke a few thoughts and open things up for discussion in the comments. Audio engineering, much like songwriting and performance, is a skill that reaps untold rewards from collaborative thought. Different perspectives can help both you and myself become better, more creative engineers.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Problem #3: “Doing things right”</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:justify;">This is a no-brainer. The only way to do things right in a recording environment is to get good sounds. If that involves using a radio shack mic with a blown diaphragm inside a piece of PVC tubing, so be it. Rules are made to be broken, and suggestions in this case are ideal for thought and hopefully starting points for inspiration.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In the coming weeks I have a number of topics planned for discussion. When applicable, I will be including screenshots/audio/video samples. I personally record into Logic 9 on a 2010 iMac, but most of what will be discussed should not be specific to Logic. In the cases that are, I will attempt to find equivalents for Pro Tools, Ableton, etc. I do not find platform to be important; I prefer using Logic on a Mac, but I know of engineers who make great sounding records using software I have not yet touched on &#8211; gasp &#8211; Windows computers (Hi, <a href="#">Phil Petrie</a>!).</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:left;">The nominees have been announced for the <a href="#" target="_blank">Boston Music Awards</a> and it did not take long for fans and critics alike to decry many of the nominations. Most of the contention seems to be centered around the bigger names. No matter what your opinion, any event that shines light onto Boston music and artists is a good thing. We were preparing an article to discuss this when we stumbled upon <a href="#" target="_blank">Richard Bouchard</a>&#8216;s facebook post. We cannot say it any better than he did, so, with permission, we are reposting his thoughts here:</p>
<p>&#8220;Here&#8217;s my extremely long winded defense of the <a href="#">Boston Music Awards</a>:</p>
<p>I enjoy the BMAs. I think it&#8217;s a fun night out where we get to dress up, go to a place we normally don&#8217;t, get fun drunk, see some bands, get our pictures taken, get kicked out for cramming 37 people into <a href="#" target="_blank">Michael Marotta</a>&#8216;s room, etc.</p>
<p><img class=" wp-image-298 alignleft" style="border-style:solid;border-color:#dddddd;cursor:default;margin-top:.4em;float:left;display:inline;margin-right:1.625em;height:auto;max-width:97.5%;margin-bottom:1.625em;border-width:1px;padding:6px;" alt="Boston Music Awards" src="/2013/11/1380251_582152055184536_2033606269_n.jpg?w=210&#038;h=210" width="210" height="210" />I completely understand that the nominations are bound to annoy some people. There are a lot that I agree with, and there are a lot that I don&#8217;t, either because in my opinion there is a name that&#8217;s more deserving, or because I feel that the act that was nominated doesn&#8217;t deserve it for whatever reason. Here&#8217;s an example: I hate the <a href="#" target="_blank">Dropkick Murphys</a>. I can&#8217;t stand them, I think they&#8217;re a one trick pony and they&#8217;re not what Boston should be exporting to the world as representative of the music here, but I don&#8217;t get to make that choice. As much as you may agree with me, they&#8217;re a popular band who sell out every show they play here. People drive in from the suburbs to see them, as crazy as I think that is. I have friends that enjoy them, and I understand that there will be people who passionately love things that I hate, and I&#8217;ve learned to be ok with that. So there is a case to be made for nominating them. I can also make great cases for people who I think should have been recognized, I&#8217;d be lying if I said I didn&#8217;t think there weren&#8217;t glaring omissions, but I also know that the bands I&#8217;d have liked to see nominated might not even be on your radar, or even if they are, they might be bands you hate for whatever reason, because this is all subjective.</p>
<p><a href="#"><img class=" wp-image-300 alignright" alt="Indie Rock Ranger" src="/2013/11/164960_608675789144603_844368789_n.jpg?w=200&#038;h=300" width="200" height="300" /></a>What really bums me out is the instant negativity. Complaining that the nominators are out of touch may be valid from your point of view, I don&#8217;t really know, but I cringe when I see those statements because I think it&#8217;s a pretty big slap in the face to the people who were actually nominated. &#8220;The BMAs are stupid and don&#8217;t know what they&#8217;re talking about&#8230;oh, except for you, friend in a band that I like who was nominated, they got it right in your case, but the rest is crap.&#8221; It&#8217;s not like Jake Brennan and whoever else works with him to put this thing on is sitting in a dark cave, writing the nominees on a parchment in Ernie Boch Jr.&#8217;s blood or anything, they ask a lot of people for input. If you think that the people they ask are &#8220;the old guard&#8221; and they need to be asking for nominations from newer or younger people, then do something about it. I&#8217;ve been asked for nominations the last few years, it&#8217;s not some secret club I had to join, I wrote about music every day for a long time, got noticed, and they reached out. That&#8217;s not to say that if someone doesn&#8217;t get noticed by the organizers that they&#8217;re not doing good work, but it&#8217;s how it worked for me. I haven&#8217;t talked to them about it, but I&#8217;m sure if the only time of year they see you voicing an opinion is to complain, I doubt they&#8217;ll be clamoring to ask for your thoughts.</p>
<p>In the end, it&#8217;s far from perfect, but at least it&#8217;s an attempt to get people who have heard of <a href="#" target="_blank">Dropkicks</a> and <a href="#" target="_blank">Amanda Palmer</a> and <a href="#" target="_blank">Aerosmith</a> but may not be paying attention to the shows playing at <a href="#" target="_blank">Radio</a> and <a href="#" target="_blank">TT&#8217;s</a> and the <a href="#" target="_blank">Middle East</a> every week to start looking at the bands that are here all the time. I don&#8217;t think that can possibly hurt.&#8221;</p>

<p dir="ltr">Did you ever wonder what the <a href="#" target="_blank">Kinks</a> would have sounded like if they had a female lead singer? I hadn’t either but I sure was psyched when I found out. Boston’s <a href="#" target="_blank">Thick Shakes</a> have released a series of EPs and singles over the past couple of years and have been building a name for themselves. Their brand of garage rock was perfectly paired as the opening act when <a href="#" target="_blank">Those Darlins’</a> rolled into <a href="#" target="_blank">Great Scott</a> on Columbus Day weekend.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Dressed in an 80s revival office dress and patent leather flats,  Lindsey belted out a series of rough and tumble tracks that could have been mined from the <a href="#" target="_blank">Kinks</a>/<a href="#" target="_blank">Who</a>/<a href="#" target="_blank">Stones </a>singles catalog, circa 1964. The set was fast, loose and raw — just the way you want your garage rock. Angular, distorted guitar and <a href="#" target="_blank">White Stripes</a>/<a href="#" target="_blank">Meg White</a>-style drum banging round out the mix. Each beat driven with a velocity and vitality that hints that the whole hot mess might implode at any moment.</p>
<p dir="ltr">In the end, that’s exactly what makes <a href="#" target="_blank">Thick Shakes</a>, and garage rock in general, so appealing — their representation of a timeless sense of rock and roll wonder — their primal urge to make blissful noise with guitar, bass and drums.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="#"><img class="size-medium wp-image-247 alignleft" alt="blackbutton" src="/2013/10/1231589_10151556002327126_681610113_n.jpg?w=300&#038;h=300" width="300" height="300" /></a>Boston&#8217;s <em><a href="#" target="_blank">Blackbutton </a></em>recently<em> </em>took Providence by storm when they beat out seven of New England&#8217;s best acts including <a href="#" target="_blank">Mals Totem</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Six Ten Connector</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Fly Kite Canvas</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Mister Vertigo</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Silhouette Rising</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Cad</a>, &amp; <a href="#" target="_blank">Jessica Prouty Band</a> (JPB placed second), for the headlining slot for the <a href="#" target="_blank">Midday Social</a>. The Midday Social is one of New England&#8217;s fastest growing music related networking events. Held quarterly in Providence, RI, each event boasts attendance in the hundreds. In the spirit of building a stronger music and arts community industry reps from all across New England gather with local bands and artists for an evening of networking. <a href="#" target="_blank"><br />
</a></p>
<p>This would be the first time the event would have a live performance closing out the night. Needless-to-say, we thought long and hard about who would be placed in coveted headlining slot.</p>
<p><a href="#"><img class="size-medium wp-image-248 alignright" alt="blackbutton" src="/2013/10/297196_10151071164977126_1339593941_n.jpg?w=300&#038;h=111" width="300" height="111" /></a><a href="#" target="_blank">Blackbutton</a>&#8216;s win was no easy task. The first stage was online voting. After a week long online poll and 1,279 votes the top 8 bands were chosen to perform in front of our industry panel. We were strategic when putting this panel together. The judges were comprised of industry reps who are passionate about local music and take it very seriously. Each judge brought something different to the table and each are well respected in the local music scene. The judges included <a href="#" target="_blank">Scarpetti</a> of <a href="#" target="_blank">94 HJY</a> (host of <a href="#" target="_blank">Soundcheck</a> and <a href="#" target="_blank">The Metal Zone</a>); Marc Clarkin, columnist for <a href="#" target="_blank">Motif Magazine</a>; and Denny Rochefort from the booking agency <a href="#" target="_blank">General Assembly</a>. General Assembly books national and touring acts as well as some of the best local bills at the areas top venues including <a href="#" target="_blank">Fete</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Middle East</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Great Scott</a>, <a href="#" target="_blank">Dusk</a>, and many more.</p>
<p>The other acts did not make it easy for them but <a href="#" target="_blank">Blackbutton</a>&#8216;s performance resulted in a unanimous decision. The judges commented on how tough the competition was that night but the band&#8217;s unique sound and performance gave them the edge. The following month the band was back in Providence to perform at <a href="#" target="_blank">The Midday Social</a> with yet another jaw-dropping set.</p>
<p>Recently, Adam Parshall had a chance to sit down with the band for a compelling interview. We are proud to bring it to you here:</p>
<p>With an initial emphasis on gritty, blues-oriented riffs, blackbutton re-formed in 2012 with a sound much more rooted in the darker style of angular, yet melodic, late-80’s/early-90’s grunge and alternative rock. With a revamped lineup and some added bass, Blackbutton are certainly still bringing the noise, but are relying on a much more ambient, echo-and-feedback-driven method of making that noise. Bold dynamic and volume shifts are the name of the game with their first two singles from their “Stripper Series,” 2012’s “Still Kids,” and August’s “Canopy.” Reflecting the past blues influences as well as the current fuzz-filled newer direction of the band, you can bet that both tracks are indicative of ambitious plans by blackbutton in the coming months. I talked to Jordan, Justin, and Dave after their appearance at Midday Records’ Midday Social, held in Providence, RI, about the state of local Boston music, their influences as a group, and how they’ve come to build their sound, through extensive collaboration, into the current incarnation of blackbutton.</p>
<p><strong>Adam Parshall</strong>: Kind of an odd/random question, but your recent single releases have all had 60s/70s-era ladies as their background pictures. Any particular reason?</p>
<p><strong><a href="#"><img class=" wp-image-256 alignleft" alt="blackbutton" src="/2013/10/13066_10151227702837126_1199756825_n.jpg?w=199&#038;h=300" width="199" height="300" /></a>Jordan M. Tavenner</strong>: Not odd at all, and yeah, there are actually a few reasons for it. First off, the singles series itself is an idea we had that would allow us to keep up recording in different studios year-round with all kinds of creative people, which we thought was more attractive than recording one full-length all at once. Now we don’t feel confined to the continuity of an album, and rather obligated to explore the new tracks every time we’re in the studio. Back when the ‘Still Kids’ single was being recorded, I came across a bunch of polaroids of strippers taken from the 60s. The collection was scanned and posted online years ago, and as the story goes they were found in a junk pile at a yard sale in California. I immediately thought that it was perfect for our series, and, at the time, even tied into the concept of ‘Still Kids’ really well. So, I emailed and found a way we could use these for Blackbutton. Thus, the new singles are all dubbed part of The Stripper Series.</p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: In terms of style, you&#8217;ve managed to take the more overarching theme of &#8220;grunge&#8221; and kind of expand on it. I hear a lot of blues, some hardcore influences, punk. What would you say influenced your overall sound?</p>
<p><strong>JMT</strong>: I think the biggest influence on the band beginning is The Black Keys. I saw those guys at Paradise when I first moved to Boston, and I was blown away. For the following years, I only played blues styled riffs, and tried writing lyrics over that. The rock sound came later, and I think it’s just because I grew up listening to 90s radio. Alternative rock was all I wanted to hear, and I’d go out and buy the records as soon as I heard something new. Naturally, now, it just comes out of me.</p>
<p><strong>Dave Koslovsky</strong>: I’m a big fan also of the newer rock bands out there like Wavves, Cloud Nothings, Japandroids, Metz, Silversun Pickups.</p>

<p><strong>Justin Emile</strong>: For me it was definitely growing up in the D.C. area. The Dischord artists of the 80s and 90s like Fugazi, Faraquet, and Make-Up launched my exploration into the kind of music I&#8217;ve come to perform.</p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: Why did you decide to go down the grunge path? Were there any bands/records that influenced you more than others when the band started? I hate to use the obvious reference&#8230;but I mean, you did cover &#8220;Breed&#8221; by Nirvana at the Rumble, so I have to ask.</p>
<p><strong>JE</strong>: I was a fan of Blackbutton before I was even in the band, so it was great to be able to hop aboard and add whatever musical perspective I carried with me.</p>
<p><strong>DK</strong>: I think it was the direction I naturally went. Jordan came in with the songs he did with Anshul and the ones we kept were already pretty grungy. Our influences are so similar that it makes sense we go in this direction.</p>
<p><strong>JMT</strong>: I don’t really think it’s a decision so much. Honestly, I think we sound the way we do because we like similar fundamental things about music. We like distortion, big drums, soft versus, screaming choruses, and bridges that do something really fucking cool. Those are the things that get me moving, personally, so when we play, I’m always playing what comes to me and what makes me move.</p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: You were a duo for a while and still managed to make a hell of a lot of righteous noise. What was the catalyst to adding Dave on bass?<a href="#"><img class="size-medium wp-image-246 alignleft" alt="blackbutton" src="/2013/10/977921_10151413991297126_227526934_o.jpg?w=300&#038;h=199" width="300" height="199" /></a></p>
<p><strong>JMT</strong>: I knew the band would one day become a 3-piece, but initially I just wanted to get out in Boston and play songs. The two-piece was a way for me to do that without worrying about a bass player. And I was inspired at the time to just get out there, so we did. When we broke for a hiatus, I decided to get away from the blues riffs almost completely, and at that point, it seemed like the right time to bring in someone else on bass. Not only would the band be able to grow musically, I would be able to write differently because of this new sound holding down the low-end. And here we are…</p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: The new single, &#8220;Canopy,&#8221; is kind of a minimalistic, bluesy-grunge stomper. It&#8217;s pretty different from &#8220;Still Kids,&#8221; which is more straightforward and noisy, but with that same soft/loud dynamic shift from verse to chorus. Is the plan to keep branching out with the rhythm and dynamics? maybe get a little more thrashy and gritty (even though it&#8217;s all pretty down-and-dirty as it is haha)?</p>
<p><strong>JE</strong>: I am always about pushing boundaries and expectations for ourselves during the songwriting process. Sometimes you have to let a straightforward song stand on its own, but as we continue to explore our musical identity, I guarantee we&#8217;ll only throw in more grit, thrash, and math. On the flip side, we fully intend on exploring some of the more melancholy and pretty aspects that particular songs naturally lend themselves to.</p>
<p><strong>DK</strong>: Yeah. I think when we write and work songs out for awhile we always try to add things in and play around with different parts and try to do something that makes the song interesting to listen to and fun to play.</p>
<p><strong>JMT</strong>: I’m attracted to writing the dynamic shift from verse to chorus that you mention. I really like songs that have steep dynamics, so I think I tend to build them that way in the beginning. But that truly is just the beginning in our process. We really try different things in a song to determine what works best in the end. For now, this is probably a trend you’ll hear in the next few singles, but we’re constantly revisiting our approach, and like Justin said, we try to push our boundaries.<a href="#"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259 alignright" alt="blackbutton" src="/2013/10/1233520_10151556006217126_1006081694_n.jpg?w=300&#038;h=300" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: What was your Rumble experience like? From an audience/journalist perspective you guys left everything on that stage, and even though it was loud as hell, there was a lot of that wide-open, ambient vibe to it.</p>
<p><strong>DK:</strong> I thought it was amazing. Even though we didn’t advance, it was great to meet and play with some other cool bands. We were really honored since we had only been playing together for 8-9 months at that point, and had only done a couple shows together.</p>
<p><strong>JE</strong>: We had an absolute blast at the Rumble. We play every show with as much heart and intensity as we possibly can, but it was particularly amazing to be a part of a Boston institution in local music. We were just honored to be selected to perform, and to share the stage with so many amazing acts.</p>
<p><strong>JMT</strong>: I agree with these guys; it was incredible. And I still can’t believe we were even asked to perform…</p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: How did you come to be hooked up with Midday Records for the Social?</p>
<p><strong>JMT</strong>: We got to know Davey Moore, the man in charge of the event, back when ‘Still Kids’ came out. He asked if we would like to have the record on the New England Indie Alt Rock Series. We were like, of course, and we kept up with each other since then.</p>

<p><strong>DK</strong>: Davey Moore emailed us one day about entering in the event, and we got in an online voting competition. We advanced through that and then played down in Providence at the Midday Social Contest and ended up winning. That was such a crazy two days because the night before we played pretty poorly, and then, to go down there and win&#8230; funny shit.</p>
<p><strong>JE:</strong> Davey Moore is just an animal when it comes to setting up shows and networking events in Providence. We must have walked away with 50 or so business cards from other bands, vendors, businesses, radio station, etc. Like the Rumble, this was another one of those amazing experiences that was such an honor to be asked to play at, and a pleasure to have met so many fantastic musicians and industry representatives.</p>
<p><strong>AP</strong>: What do you think is going right for the local music scene in Boston and New England in general?</p>
<p><strong>JE</strong>: First and foremost is the community. From the Rumble to the Midday Social and everything in between, there is an amazing sense of community in Boston and New England. Since moving here, I&#8217;ve become more a fan of local Boston music than the next big thing nationally. There&#8217;s so much talent in this city that it often makes it feel like what we&#8217;re doing pales in comparison, but so much of that talent is so humble, that it&#8217;s just inspiring. I&#8217;m not only happy to be playing in this band, but I&#8217;m proud of the scene that I get to be a part of.</p>

I run into people I haven’t seen in however long, and really, we only know each other through music anyway, the bands, the shows, the bars, that kind of thing. It makes me feel at home, and reminds me that it’s not all about one thing, that we truly are in a community of artists and musicians. I know I can get that every time, and it works. I hope it never changes.</p>

Where: Platforms Nightclub | 165 Poe Street Providence, RI | 7:00 PM<br />
This is a FREE event open to ALL genres.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Description:</p>
<p>The Midday Social is one of New England&#8217;s fastest growing music related networking events. The last two events have had hundreds of attendees and representatives from the areas biggest radio stations, venues, magazines &amp; publications, promoters, etc. including 94 HJY, 100.7 WZLX, 90.7 WXIN, 91.5 WMFO, 88.3 WQRI FM, 990WBOB, Unregular Radio, LImelight Magazine, Motif Magazine, 13 Folds Magazine, Go Local Prov, Rock Karma Promotions, WARL 1320, The Steve Katsos Show, General Assembly, Firehouse 13/Fete, and many more.</p>
<p>This is an opportunity for musicians and industry professionals to make new connections. Bands/artists are encouraged to bring press kits and CDs. This event is open to ALL genres across New England.</p>
<p>IMPORTANT INFO:<br />
If your a musician or band that wants your music played over the house system during the event you need to hand in a CD to the DJ by 8:00 PM the latest. We cannot accept submissions after that time. While the event is FREE, food will be 3 bucks for all you can eat. There is a full bar and drink specials. There will also be raffles. If you would like to raffle off artwork, photography, Band swag, such as T-shirts &amp; CDs, please find the raffle table. This is a 50/50 raffle where you the artist will receive half of the proceeds and half goes to help cover costs of the event.</p>
<p>The event will start promptly at 7:00. Industry reps are encouraged to be there earlier in order to set up their tables.</p>
<p>WHATS NEW? | CHANGES &amp; UPDATES:</p>
<p>Throughout the night we play a mix of music by bands in attendance and have a few acoustic performances. Closing out the night we have two live acts performing.</p>
<p>There will also be gear set up in the back room for folks who&#8217;d like to perform or just jam. The back room is open to anyone who would like to rock out!</p>
<p>Also, <a href="#">The Studio Cellar</a> will be set up to do record a their upcoming Podcast and interview bands/artists.</p>

DAve has been part of the Boston music scene for as long as we can remeber. He spent many years over at UnRegular Radio and in additon to co-hosting Bay State Rock on WAAF with Carmelita he also runs Full Scene Ahead.</p>

Gina has been in the Music industry for over 23 years. She&#8217;s been the General Manager/Talent Buyer of multiple clubs throughout her career and is currently the CFO/Manager of the <a href="#">Worcester Palladium</a> in MA and The Webster in Hartford, CT. She has been hands on with <a href="#">New England Metal Fest</a> Fest Fest from year one. She is the GM and a promoter for<a href="#">Massconcerts</a>, New England&#8217;s second largest concert promoters. She also books the Rock &amp; Shock Music Convention and is co-owner of Paris Cafe in Worcester. She has also been a Tour Manager and a Production Manager and has done merch on the road for countless national bands.</p>
